Warrior Call

For warriors who have been deployed, the wounds of war can be both visable and invisable. Active duty service members and veterans often struggle with post-deployment transition This initiative focuses on promoting connectivity between service members and veterans alike after they return home from the battlefield. Warriors share a unique bond and by fostering connectivity we can strengthen their community.

24-7 Battle Buddies

24-7 Battle Buddies is a service dog program that matches canines to wounded military veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each 24-7 Battle Buddy is carefully selected for their partner. The training is then specific to the warrior’s needs and intended to assist in successfully navigating everyday life. To date, there are 43 dogs working with their Battle Buddies throughout the country – from Seattle, Washington to Staten Island, New York.

Operation HorsePower: Foundation Building Through Equine Assisted Activities

Operation HorsePower is a joint venture bringing together Feherty’s Troops First Foundation’s Warrior Call Ranch and Paradise Stables Common Ground Program. The goal is to serve as an equine recreational respite for Military Enlisted, Veterans, First Responders, and their families. Operation HorsePower will promote a healthy sense of community and provide the opportunity to connect to self, others, animals, and nature by creating an environment to reconnect with a strong brotherhood of support.

Warrior Call Ranch

The Warrior Call Ranch, established at the beginning of 2021, is a six-bedroom 10,500 square foot facility located in Mount Airy, Maryland on 35 mostly wooded acres. It is approximately one hour from Baltimore and the nation’s capital. The Ranch is a perfect setting for the Foundation to host Warrior Retreats, Warrior Family get-aways and summits for both active-duty personnel and veteran groups that expand our bandwidth and outreach objectives.

Stellate Ganglion Block Treatment (SGB)

Stellate ganglion block is an outpatient procedure that over the past 12 years has been extensively studied and successfully used to treat symptoms of post-traumatic stress in thousands of people suffering from the injuries of trauma. Most insurance does not cover SGB as a treatment for PTSD and Feherty’s Troops First Foundation has stepped in to help where they can. They may cover the treatment, round-trip flight to Annapolis, Maryland for the recipient and a companion, as well as room and board. Approximately $5000.00.

If you would like more information on SGB you can find it at rosm.org.
